Waterways is a collaborative research endeavor and residency, with research nodes enacted as public actions surrounding the theme of water in Brooklyn.  The development of this Brooklyn-based project was supported through iLAND, Inc’s iLAB Residency Program, and by the  generous support of The Danish Arts Council.  The collaborative team included media artist Lucy HG Solomon from The League of Imaginary Scientists, choreographers Karina Dichov lund, Klara Elenius and Emma Nordanfors of E.K.K.O, environmental researcher David Garin, architect Annie Kwon, and composer Matt McBane.  While focusing on the exchange of their practices and developing a common process, the group developed interactive scenarios and performed community-based actions surrounding issues of water.  Outcomes include the creation of miniature glaciers aboard the Waterpod in NYC, public testing and tasting of varieties of water, choreographed dances by water taxis in the East River (viewers rode in the water taxis), guided bike tours along the water with actions at specific sites, and the performance of a human glacier, choreographed for dancers en masse and performed at The Drop in NYC and the Copenhagen Museum of Modern Art.
